So much for BMW of Bellevue

I've been having an email exchange with Richard Hard - an Internet Sales Manager at BMW of Bellevue, about our search for a lease return 3-series convertible.

Yesterday, he completely destroyed any possibility of earning commission from me, and insured that I'll continue working with BMW of Seattle.

The first sign of trouble was when he couldn't understand a simple price constraint. "$XXk out-the-door," I said - and explained this was an agreement between Dawnise and I, if we could get the convertible for that, great, if not, we start looking for a hard-top, and probably not a BMW.

The first car he pushed was $10k over my limit.

The second was around $6k (sure, he's trending in the right direction), then he made two fatal mistakes.

1. He suggested that I could get what I wanted, despite there being plenty of examples in other parts of the country on BMW's site (in the certified pre-owned inventory search).

2. He referred to Dawnise as "mama." (As in "convince 'mama' to spend more money and let's get you a cool car")

I never gave him any indication that informality with me was acceptable, let alone my spouse.

Funny thing was, he includes his mug shot in his email signature - and the first time I saw it I said "sales slime."

I was right.

Wanker.

His name is "Richard Hard"? Dick Hard? And you expected him to not be a scumbag?
