Blame Canada
Yesterday morning Dawnise and I hopped the 8am ferry, made a stop at Pike Market for crumpets, donuts, and a quick run through Market Spice, before hopping on I5 North toward Scott and Amanda's.
We made one unscheduled stop at a Victory dealer at Dawnise's insistence to check out the Vegas. As Dawnise pointed out while I was dragging her bodily out of the dealership - "how many guys have to drag their wives out of a motorcycle dealership?"
We got to their place around 12:30, after a very brief delay at the border crossing, and found Amanda and Will waiting for Scott and Zoe to return from Zoe's dance class.
We spent the afternoon catching up, which consisted of Dawnise and Amanda watching Social Engineering 101, and Scott and I walking down to the corner Irish pub, having a couple pints of Kilkenny and discussing their plans in the face of Scott's current (lack of) job situation.
For dinner Amanda made port-reduced onion and Stilton sandwiches (yum), and we watched Dressed To Kill. Well, they watched it, I basically curled up on their comfy sofa and dozed through the whole thing.
I woke up this morning around 6:15, had the sense to go back to sleep 'till a bit after 7, and wandered out to find the rest of the household up and awake, with Zoe watching an animated version of Where the Wild Things Are, and Amanda just putting on coffee. We breakfasted on Tea and Crumpet shop crumpets and jam, and we're currently preparing for a trip to Granville Island.
As I type, Dawnise is sitting on the floor with Will, who's just decided he's going to get cranky. I'd better go see if there's anything I can do to placate the little fellow.
