Guiding Principles
I had to fill out an "individual development plan" at work, and one of the sections was a list of guiding principles. Rather than dismiss the exercise as pointless management fluff, I spent some time thinking about it, and I rather liked the list I came up with.
1. Work in support of living, never live to work.
2. Be passionate, and be surrounded by like-minded colleagues.
3. Strive for technical excellence, and work for and with those who recognize and appreciate the same.
4. Learn and mentor, in equal measure.
5. Lead when needed, follow when appropriate, and recognize the value in each.
6. Accept and delegate accountability only in concert with authority.
7. Strive to be the person your dog thinks you are.

Point 7 is crucial to building a better empire through stealing office supplies. You can also scale your empire building by using point 3 to find a right partner in office supply theft. I'm not a fan of point 4: you best enter the business of stealing office supplies with previous experience. We don't have time to teach here.
