When the best part of your day are the dark chocolate M&Ms...

This morning started on the wrong foot. I tripped over something that was left in a darkened doorway on my way out of the house. I had no idea that would set the trend for the day...

I got to work, and from 9:30 to 3:30 was in crisis mode. A crisis, I might add, largely of our own making.

That pattern pretty much continued all day, 'till I got home around 8:30 this evening. I had planned to hop out at lunch and do some anniversary gift shopping. That wasn't to be.

If this day had happened a few weeks back, well, let's just say I might have moved forward with one or both of the interviews I had.

I got home, discovered that my personal mailbox had been corrupted on the server, fixed that, downloaded the 250 messages I got today, most of which were spam (and handled by SpamAssassin), looked at the ones that weren't. Had something to eat, and am now sitting with a cat curled up on my legs, with a glass of red wine, finishing off a small bowl of dark chocolate M&Ms.

Going to spend the next hour or so sorting through my work email from today, none of which I really managed to read while technically at work.

The weekend, at this point, isn't looking much better.

On the up side, Dawnise is out of town (CA), so at least I'm not sacrificing time I could otherwise spend with her.
